9 ways to use flashcards. Can you think of other ways to use them? Let me know ordenador@optonline.net
cut them up and paste them on regular index cards so they last for a while or just use them as they are and print up a new set when they are messed up.
put them in an envelope on which you have written the name of the unit and the lesson.
make three piles -- I know this, I don't know this, I think I know this. Study the words and expressions until you put all of them in the "I know this" pile.
make piles according to category. For example, people, places, forms of transportation (or whatever topic we are studying)
lay them all out in front of you and then try to connect them to each other in ways that make sense. For example, put coffee and cafeteria together because they serve coffee in a cafeteria. Think about why you are making the connection.
try to make a sentence using two of the words from the set.
have a friend or family member test you by telling you one word and you tell him/her another word that's associated with it.
write a sentence on the back of each flashcard that uses the word on the front.
write a word in Spanish on the front of the card that you associate with the word. The other word should be one that you learned in another unit or grade.
